Marbella council helps publicise Red Cross Flag Day
Today, October 21, Marbella Council joined Red Cross Flag Day, using the motto #SiempreContigo, and has been more informative and fun than fundraising. The Councilor for Social Rights in Marbella, Isabel Cintado, has pointed out that “this year the association has not taken its traditional piggy banks out onto the streets and has taken the opportunity to install six information tables in the municipality.” The information tables have been thematic based on the entity’s areas of knowledge such as social inclusion, employment, education or emergencies. “Red Cross is a recognised non-profit NGO, which has an impeccable work history and does a great job in our city,” said the mayor, who has highlighted the programmes it promotes “in favour of the elderly, childhood, youth, immigrants and families in situations of extreme vulnerability,” she indicated. She also highlighted the support Marbella Council gives to the association through an agreement, for an amount of 433,700 euros, to pay for the Immediate Inclusion Centre for the Homeless. Cintando said: “It is a programme that started in 2018 and has been increasing, with another centre in San Pedro Alcántara and the incorporation of a Mobile Social Emergency Unit for Immediate Attention.”
