Sports courts improvements for Velez Malaga. The improvements involve an investment of more than 125,000 euros.
The first deputy mayor of Velez-Malaga Town Hall, Jesús Pérez Atencia, together with the deputy mayor of La Caleta de Vélez, David Segura, and the councillor for Sports, Hipólito Gómez, presented plans for the improvements. The improvements will be carried out in the multi-sports courts of La Caleta de Vélez. The sports facilities are located in the Los Puntales urbanisation.
Jesús Pérez Atencia, commented: “we present a new work to be carried out under the PFEA 2021 in the town of Caleta de Vélez, specifically in the area of the Sports Centre. The mostly young people who use our sports facilities deserve a quality service”.
Atencia added: “This government team has been working throughout this term of office to improve facilities throughout the municipality, such as the sports courts in Torre del Mar, which were remodelled a few months ago”.
He also highlighted that: “today it is the turn of Caleta, to respond to a long-standing demand from both users and parents whose children play sports on these courts.
“From this government team we continue to work to invest resources in a balanced way in all areas of the municipality, as we are demonstrating with the PFEA of Infrastructure and now Sports.”
David Segura said: “we are here to present the reform of the Sports Centre of La Caleta, located in Calle el Morche.
“We are talking about an important investment of more than 125,000 euros in the multi-sports courts. These are courts for people to play indoor football, basketball and table tennis”.
Segura added: “this action comes to confirm the commitment to equality of the people of the municipality, in this case in terms of investment in a sports facility. So, also remember the work being done in the sports stadium of Baviera located in Las Palmeras avenue with the improvement of the playing field, changing rooms, etc.”
“I want to send a message to the residents of our town, that we will continue to work to improve our town in terms of sports, both in events such as the event last weekend of more than 500 people and also with the improvement of public sports spaces,” said Segura.
