Blind diabetic octogenarian rescued in Alicante

Blind diabetic octogenarian rescued in Alicante. The man had been missing for 14 hours and was injured when he was found.
An 84-year-old man went missing in the Alicante municipality of Beniarres. According to the Alicante Provincial Fire Department, the man is blind and also suffers from diabetes. The search was urgent. The man had last been seen on Monday, October 18, at around 10am.
The search party swung into action to locate the elderly man. It involved multiple emergency services and also drones and a helicopter.  Officials had received a call at about 7:30pm regarding the missing man. Fortunately, firefighters were able to locate him in the early hours of Tuesday morning. He was found in an area near Beniarrés.
The octogenarian had fallen. He was said to be bruised after his ordeal.
The rescue operation involved two headquarters command units, three firefighters from the Benidorm and Cocentaina fire stations along with CPBA Drones and an Alpha 01 helicopter. The GER also helped search for the missing person.
