NOVEMBER is an important month for La Cala de Mijas Lions Diabetic Association as Sunday November 14 is World Diabetes Day.
To mark this, the Lions have a number of different events occurring during the month but they are also looking for sponsors in order to ensure that they can continue to help people live with the disease and also expand their outreach.
The timetable for the month is as follows;
November 1 Diabetic Support Group meeting 11am Snack Attack/Bar Tuta in La Cala
November 4 TV interview about World Diabetes Day at El Torreon (the tower) in La Cala
November 5 Mijas Pueblo glucose testing from 11am
November 12 Town Hall La Cala glucose testing from 11 am
November 14 Torreon La Cala – Sponsored walk and Display Tournament with Medieval Reenactors and stalls from 10.30 am. Mijas Council will be using a blue floodlight to illuminate the town hall to celebrate the special day.
November 15 Diabetic Support Group meeting 11am Snack Attack/Bar Tuta in La Cala
November 23 Diabetic Month Lunch at Pura Asia La Cala, all are welcome for a special set lunch plus entertainment at €20 per person.
November 24 La Cala Solidarity Market outside the town hall glucose testing from 11am
November 27 La Cala Solidarity Market outside the town hall glucose testing from 11am
November 29 La Cala Lions Christmas Fair at Olivia’s from 11 am (Stall cost €20 paid to Lions Club not diabetics)
