Mask rage bus attack in Spain. An off-duty policeman was beaten up in the attack.
An off-duty National Police inspector stepped in and asked a bus passenger to wear a mask. The man flew into a rage and attacked the officer. The shocking attack took place on Sunday, October 17. The attack occurred inside a city bus in the Aragonese capital.
The attack took place early in the morning on Avenida de Madrid. The inspector had asked a young man on a Zaragoza bus to follow coronavirus regulations. He asked the man to put on his mask as he was using urban public transport.
When the inspector identified himself as a police officer the man became aggressive. He threatened the officer. He then hit him in the chest. He finally managed to knock the off-duty officer to the ground.
According to sources from the Aragon Police Headquarters, the attacker has not been arrested yet. He fled the scene of the incident after the attack.
The off-duty police officer was injured. He needed to be treated in hospital. He received an injury to his eye during the mask rage attack.
