Huge £184m jackpot is a record Euromillions result and has been won at last

Somewhere in France a lucky lottery player has woken up on Saturday £184m better off after landing a record Euromillions result. The National Lottery has confirmed the numbers have matched up with a ticket bought in the country. The winning numbers were 21, 26, 31, 34, 49 and the lucky star number were 02 and 05.

The huge amount rolled over from the draw that took place on Tuesday. As that lay unclaimed it led to a huge rush to enter the following draw on Friday. The winner has 60 days to claim the prize which would put them instantly onto their countries ‘Rich List’.

The jackpot winner is the biggest single Euromillions winner, topping the anonymous ticket holder from Switzerland who won £177 million in February 2021. The current British record holder is anonymous also after winning £170 million in October 2019. Five more UK winners have claimed huge sums this year alone, with £122 million being won in April and £111 million picked up in June. Those winners have also chosen to keep their identities secret.

France has the highest number of lucky ticketholders over the 1,400 Euromillions draws that have taken place with 833,000,000 people getting some form of windfall. The UK is the second-largest winners pool, with Spain coming in third. The draw has been running since 2004.

The next draw is on Tuesday 19 October and the jackpot currently stands at £14 million.
