The councillor for Social Services Daniel Rivas, prevention service technician Gloria Naranjo, social educator Rocio Muñoz and psychologist Guillermo Servia have announced a preventive programme for children and adolescents in situations of difficulty and/or conflict in the family environment (NAYFA) in Nerja. The councillor described it as “a programme with which the Nerja Council expands the services it offers to families from Nerja and Mareñas.” He also announced that “these meetings with children or young people, between 9 and 17 years old will also be bilingual.” Rivas has indicated that the programme is open to all families in the municipality who have some kind of difficulty with their children. To register they must go to the Community Social Services Centre. The NAYFA programme proposes two lines of action – the promotion of different competencies related to the positive development of children and adolescents, and support for parental figures so that they develop the necessary competencies for a positive exercise of their parenting. Both ultimately seek to improve family functioning and the well-being of all family members.
