Young sisters seriously injured after a head-on collision on the Costa Blanca.
The crash occurred on the La Marina road in Elche. One of the sisters suffered from a cardiac arrest. The medical services were able to revive her. She was rushed to the Alicante General Hospital.
The two 9-year-old sisters were injured along with four other people in the crash. The crash happened on Wednesday at 6:40pm according to the Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU).
The accident happened on the CV-853 road, in La Hoya, at the roundabout of La Marina, in Elche.
According to the Fire Brigade, two vehicles collided head-on. A couple was travelling in one vehicle. The two sisters were travelling in the other vehicle along with their parents.
Once the emergency services were alerted to the accident a medical helicopter along with two SAMU units, an SVA nursing unit and three SVB units were deployed to the scene.
The other sister suffered from abdominal trauma. She was also taken to the Alicante General Hospital.
A 50-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman were transferred to the Elche General Hospital for treatment.
A 42-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were taken to the Vinalopó Hospital in Elche.
