CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Mojacar’s Municipal Band is preparing something special this year Photo credit: Mojacar town hall

MOJACAR’s Municipal Band, under the baton of its director Miguel Angel Miranda, is preparing a special Christmas performance

The band’s highly-anticipated Christmas concert is attended by a large audience that always enjoys its superb young musicians, but this year Miguel Angel Miranda is preparing a surprise.

Without wanting to reveal many details, he explained that the Municipal Band is requesting collaboration from all residents who would like to participate in some way. This can include making costumes, decorations or helping with make-up and hair as well as singing or dancing.

Noche Magica (Magic Night) will feature all-time greatest children’s entertainment hits with live music, singing and dancing and an original script relating the stories that have encouraged generations young and old to dream.

“Do get involved,” urged Mojacar’s Culture and Festivities councillor  Raquel Belmonte, who said she is hoping for a good response.

Readers who would like more information about the concert should make enquiries at the Municipal Music School in the afternoon.

Linda came to Spain to live when she was 24, just over 52 years ago, and her husband is Spanish. She began writing for English-language local newspapers in the mid-1970s and hasn’t stopped since! She leads a Spanish life, which she believes is vital when conveying the news to English-speaking residents, and along the way she produced two editions of Expand Your Spanish, helping English-speakers to enlarge their knowledge of the language. She was excited to be in at the birth of the Euro Weekly News in 1999 and is still passionately writing for the paper 22 years later.
