Prince Andrew ‘accepts’ served legal papers over sex assault claims and has vowed to ‘come out fighting’.

Prince Andrew’s legal team has finally accepted that he has been correctly served with legal papers by his sex accuser. This now sets the Duke up for a dramatic US court battle with the complainant, Virginia Roberts, and is likely to spark a feeding frenzy for the worlds media- some say it could be as explosive as the OJ Simpson case was.

The Duke of York has conceded ‘the inevitable’, said sources to the Daily Mail. He now has just 21 days to respond to her accusations of sexual assault and sexual battery.

However, Miss Roberts’s attorney, David Boies, also told the Mail that he expected the prince’s US lawyer, Andrew B Brettler, to apply for a ‘reasonable’ extension to respond to the complaint – and indicated they would likely agree.

Prince Andrew was served with legal papers in a civil sexual assault case against him when the senior British royal’s US-based lawyer was sent the suit by FedEx and email on Monday, September 20, court papers show.

The US court documents, seen by US media outlet CNN, showed the legal papers were delivered to the duke’s lawyer, Andrew B. Brettler, at the law firm of Lavely and Singer in Los Angeles on Monday morning at 9:22 a.m. (local time).
The court document also shows legal papers being delivered to the Royal Courts of Justice in London on the same day. Andrew, the Queen’s second-oldest son, stands accused of sexual assault by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who is suing the prince in New York.

Prince Andrew reportedly missed meeting his new granddaughter. According to a report from The Sun, he missed out on meeting Princess Beatrice’s first child because was reportedly “hiding out in Balmoral” in an attempt to avoid the legal issues he is facing.

The Scottish castle is 800km away from London’s Chelsea and Westminister hospital where Princess Beatrice gave birth, however, her mother Fergie travelled from the Queen’s Scottish retreat to meet her new granddaughter, reports say.
