Face-to-face appointments at health centres in Malaga will return in October

Face-to-face appointments at health centres in Malaga will return in October.
The delegate from the Andalucian Government in Malaga, Patricia Navarro, has announced today, Wednesday, September 22, that from October, face-to-face appointments in health centres in the province of Malaga will be gradually resumed.
While on a visit to the Torre del Mar health centre, accompanied by Health delegate, Carlos Bautista, Navarro thanked all the health professionals of the Andalucian public system for the effort that they have been making during the pandemic.
Navarro also pointed out that the favourable evolution of the pandemic data in the province of Malaga has made it possible to return to normality in primary care centres and that each district should manage this ‘new normality’ according to their own specific circumstances.
The delegate also mentioned that at the moment, video calls with health staff will continue to be used, but will be slowly phased out.
New health centre
During his visit to the Torre del Mar Health Centre, meeting with the Deputy Mayor of this population centre, Jesús Pérez Atencia, Navarro asked the Vélez-Málaga government team “to give certainty as soon as possible about what they consider to be the best location for the new health centre planned for the town so that it can be analysed by the technical health personnel.
Once decided upon, the committee will make the municipal plot available to the Junta de Andalucía for the health centre’s future construction.
The new health centre is included within the framework of the Provincial Infrastructure Plan 2020-2030 and the Master Plan of Works of the East Health Management Area of Málaga-Axarquía “with the aim of decongesting the current health centre while providing car to the fastest growing area of the population.
