What happens if you drink a Covid vaccine? Vaccine programs across the world are progressing well, but many people are still discussing how effective the vaccines are and what possible side effects can occur.

Many strange ideas around the vaccines have cropped up, with one of the strangest being that Bill Gates could even use it to take over the world.

Possibly the most bizarre question regarding the vaccines though is what would happen if a person were to drink one.  Scientist Dr Karl Kruszelnicki has discussed what would actually happen if someone drank the vaccine, rather than it being injected.

First and foremost, it would be a waste of the vaccine, and it is hoped that not many people would even think of trying this.

Speaking on Triple M’s The Danny Lakey Show, Dr Kruszelnicki, aged 73 explained what would happen.

Dr Kruszelnicki said: ‘The vaccine is optimised to work by a tiny amount of it being injected into the muscle and then various things happen there.

‘The dose is not that much, it is less than a mil, so I’m guessing on average, you could swallow it into your mouth, no worries, and it would go down into your esophagus, no worries.

‘In the stomach, the extreme acidity may very well break it down and destroy it.’

There is no point in trying to drink a vaccine as it would not be effective. The doctor also commented on how a vaccine would taste, but said that this would vary as there are many different vaccines on the market at the moment.

Dr Kruszelnicki added: ‘We are now moving to vaccines that work where the centre of all the action is, the lungs.’

He also shared an important message on TikTok to show how safe the vaccines are. He said: ‘One in a million is the odds of dying from the AstraZeneca vaccine.’

Governments and health experts across the world continue to urge people to have the vaccine to protect both themselves and others too.

During the ongoing coronavirus pandemic many people have come up with fake news regarding the vaccines and the virus too. Across the world millions of doses have been jabbed into people’s arms and until the pandemic is over, vaccines will be a main topic of conversation.
