Over 600 young people will learn water sports for free in Malaga
The free activity will teach young people the main knowledge and techniques for practising water sports such as sailing, rowing and paddle surfing. They will also get acquainted with rowing in the boat of Phoenician origin and currently the only indigenous sport in Malaga. In addition, the activity also aims to raise awareness about respect for the marine environment, the conservation of beaches and the protection of biodiversity, as well as to publicise the different job opportunities that the maritime environment can offer. Cortes de la Frontera will be the municipality that will begin the activity this next Thursday, August 12, and later it will be the turn of El Borge, Gaucin, Algatocin, Moclinejo, Almogia, Benadalid, Benahavis, Cuevas del Becerro, Carratraca, Fuente de Piedra, Benalauria, Tolox, Jimera de Libar, Mollina and Villanueva de la Concepcion. Young people in the province between 16 and 30 years old interested in participating can now register with the town hall of the corresponding municipality. The workshops, lasting a total of four hours, will be taught with all the preventive health measures against Covid-19. The workshop will be given by the Andalucian Sailing Federation and the Jabega School at their facilities, located on the San Andres dock in the Port of Malaga.
