Almeria joins largest International Food Fair in Europe at the IFEMA exhibition centre in Madrid.

Salon Gourmets, is the largest International Quality Food and Beverage Fair in Europe. It is also one of the world’s most prestigious benchmarks as a showcase for high-end trends for food professionals.

The event will be held at the IFEMA exhibition centre in Madrid and will run from October 18 to October 21. The event will feature the ‘Sabores Almeria’ brand, and showcase what the area has to offer.

Unfortunately, last year’s event was cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic but the previous year a record 100,000 professional visitors attended the event which had 2000 exhibitors. Buyers attended the event from around 70 countries too.

The President of the Provincial Council, Javier A. Garcia, and the Deputy for Agri-Food Promotion, Maria Luisa Cruz, have been finalising preparations for the appearance of ‘Sabores Almeria’ at the event.

Garcia commented that the Almeria gastronomy “is a source of pride in Almeria and it is a great honour that we can promote it in one of the most important international forums with the help of our chefs, who are the best prescribers and those who make the most of the excellence of the products of the companies that make up the gourmet brand ‘Sabores Almería'”,

“The Provincial Council will continue to support the star products of the land and will establish lines of collaboration with the aim of being a worldwide reference in agri-food”.
