Mossos D’Esquadra officers in Barcelona have arrested one of Spain’s most wanted pimps who preyed on young people in financial difficulty

Mossos d’Esquadra officers in Barcelona have arrested a 38-year-old man of Spanish nationality – whose identity cannot be revealed for legal reasons – who recruited young people in financial difficulty, most of whom were searching online for work as cleaners, and lured them into prostitution as a result.

He became one of the most wanted pimps in Spain, and the detainee was also known to have been extorting money out of women who used sexual contact pages, threatening to make their identities public as users of prostitutes, unless they paid him large sums of money.

Their detained man was very elusive and had allegedly been impersonating the identities of some of the women he was exploiting, using credit cards and telephone lines in their names to prevent the police from tracing his whereabouts, after they had set about catching him in January 2021, after he had contacted a woman who had severe financial difficulties due to the pandemic, offering her financial reward for having sex with him, to which she agreed.

He asked the woman for access to her identity documentation in order to make a payment to her via the Bizum app, after she had agreed to send him her photos without clothing, and then he arranged to meet her in a hotel, on the assumption that he was going to take sexual photos of her, but instead, he sexually assaulted the woman.

When she reported his actions to the police, it allowed investigators to start an operation to identify the sexual aggressor, until, finally, on August 3, officers from the Criminal Investigation division managed to identify and locate him, which saw the Mossos officers arrest the suspect, but the information was not revealed until today, Friday, August 6, as reported by lavanguardia.com.
