The Health Ministry reported yesterday, July 21, 882 cases of Covid which is a new daily record for the Balearic Islands.


As well as the new daily record, the death of six people has also been reported in the last few months which takes the total number of deaths to 854.
According to the report,235 people have been admitted to the hospital with the virus, five more than on Wednesday, 34 people are in intensive care (an increase of two people), and 201 people on the wards (an increase of three people).
The total number of people treated by the Health Service has increased in just one day by 7.1 per cent, from 8,518 to 9,130.
The Health Service has specified that 34 coronavirus patients are in the ICU with an increase of 1 per cent from just yesterday, Wednesday, 21 July.
The positivity rate of Covid tests in the Balearics stood at 13.38 per cent yesterday, one point higher than Wednesday’s 12.19 per cent.
The cumulative incidence in two weeks in the Balearics as a whole is 754 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In Mallorca, it is 681, in Ibiza 1,125, in Menorca 895 and in Formentera 470.
In Ibiza, 198 new coronavirus infections were detected, with five patients admitted to the ICU, 43 to the ward and 1,720 patients supervised by Primary Care, according to Majorca Daily Bulletin.
