Are you watching RTV Marbella? By columnist Nicole King

Marbella Now on RTV Marbella weekdays 3pm

Marbella Now on RTV Marbella weekdays 3pm.

I KNOW that many of you can’t access RTV Marbella on the television, but you can all watch via streaming or thereafter online.  There’s always a varied line-up of guests who cover many a different aspect of our day-to-day life and could therefore be of interest to many of you at any given moment.

For example Simon Lawrence was a Vidal Sassoon hairdresser for over 20 years and specialises not just in style, cuts and colour, but also in personalised and handmade extensions, hairpieces and wigs. Many people use extensions but are unaware of the consequences certain methods will prompt in the future.

Many would benefit from a hairpiece that doesn’t move even in the shower. Many would much prefer a home visit and personalised advice and custom-made pieces, matching personalised needs and personality.

I am fortunate enough to have lots of hair (and love the colour Simon envisioned for me) but for those less fortunate or in need for health or religious reasons, Simon is certainly a specialist you can consult in confidence.

For those who’d like to learn how to specialise in the field of extensions and wigs, Simon also offers courses. www.greatlookinghair.eu – www.glhwigand hairacademy.com.

Local author Gerry Hagan is undoubtedly an intellectual and therefore his interview is most entertaining, as is his book:  Mia Thaw – The Future Whispers; available on Amazon. I think you’ll find the concept fascinating and will want to have read the first instalment before he publishes the second of what is intended to be a trilogy.

Thanks to Lynn Fisher, golf event organiser and founder of GIRLS Golf, we get to help spread the word that David Steele is raising funds and awareness for Cudeca by doing an impossible number of rounds of golf in just one day. Thirteen-year-old Keiron Mccafferty also felt inspired to do something for this charity and launched  – ‘Kieron’s Get Fit for Cudeca’. He’s off to a good start so please support Keiron if you can: pr@cudeca.org.

We also took the cameras to celebrate World Earth Day and End Plastic Soup. My UNMS sustainability guru Angela Lafferty was there with Plastic Free Seas Worldwide, as well as divers and an impressive team of volunteers to clean up the beaches.

Patricia Villarubia offered some heartfelt ecological tips and Nikky and Natasha Wegloop of Mi Moana launched some educational videos for schools with the support of the Rotary Club Marbella-Guadalmina. Great footage and interviews from the day with people that care about our planet and are doing something about it. www.plasticfreeseas.com – www.mimoana.org.

Masha Malka is a familiar face on Marbella NOW and an international speaker, coach and author. We usually discuss important issues regarding our mental health, but on this occasion it’s all about her performance in the Bailacosta Summer Party 2021, taking place tomorrow Friday, June 18 at 5pm. There will be a BBQ and it’s a pool party, so why not join us if you’re free?

Tickets from Club Miraflores  – it’d be nice to meet up for a dance.
