CELEBRATION LUNCH: U3A Marina Baixa’s Spanish Language groups Photo credit: U3A Marina Baixa
TWELVE members of U3A Marina Baixa’s Spanish Language groups met for lunch in Albir to celebrate the end of term. The two groups for Beginners and Improvers began last September and despite Covid the groups met every week apart from five weeks during the winter. Numbers attending diminished as some members understandably felt safer staying at home, but the classes continued with one person to a desk as well as masks, temperature checks and careful sanitation of furniture. Classes have now finished for the summer but will resume on September 8 when possibly the situation will be a little more normal. The groups’ tutor was presented with gifts including a voucher for afternoon tea for her and her husband in appreciation of the work entailed in organising the course. U3A offer a variety of courses and events designed to appeal to a wide range of interests. Further information can be found on their website www.u3amarinabaixa.com or go along to their next meeting on June at 11am at the Casa de Cultura in Alfaz.
