The recent charity event “The Return of Cockney Capers” at the Marina Bar in Torrevieja raised €462 for charity.

It was a “knees up” without the “’knees up” due to Covid restrictions but fundraisers, David and Lorraine Whitney were delighted with the result as this was their first venture after a very trying and difficult time due to the pandemic

With a two-course lunch, raffle, tombola, prizes for the best-dressed and an Eastenders comedy sketch, the afternoon exceeded expectations.

Thanks went to the Marina Bar team as well as Lynne Smith who arrived with her own homemade gateau, which she donated to the raffle.

Since those attending decided on their chosen charity, the money raised is going to the Red Cross, who actively help the local community.

David and Lorraine’s next charity event at the Marina Bar will give people a chance to “glam up” and put on their best evening wear for Puttin’ On The Glitz.  The date has yet to be confirmed, so watch this space
