The Queen To Meet US President Biden And First Lady Jill At Windsor Castle
It has been announced by Buckingham Palace that during their visit to Britain for the G7 Summit, The Queen will meet with US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, at Windsor Castle, on Sunday, June 13.
This will be Mr Biden’s first visit overseas trip since he took over as US President, and Buckingham Palace released a short statement that said, “The Queen will meet the President of the United States of America and First Lady Jill Biden at Windsor Castle on Sunday, 13th June 2021″.
There is also speculation that the Bidens will also meet with the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall during their visit to the UK, according to Sky News.
Donald Trump was the last US President to meet with Her Majesty The Queen, in June 2019 when he made a state visit, during the final days of Theresa May‘s time as Prime Minister, and the White House has also confirmed that President Biden will meet with Boris Johnson on June 10, the day before the G7 Summit starts in Carbis Bay in Cornwall on June 11, the G7 group of nation’s 47th summit.
During the Queen’s 69-year reign there have been a total of 14 US presidents, from Harry S Truman through to Joe Biden, and the only one she never met was Lyndon B Johnson.
After the G7 summit, Mr Biden is scheduled to travel to Brussels where he will join a NATO summit, before heading on to Switzerland where he will meet Vladimir Putin, the Russian President, on June 16, where he will try to rebuild relations between Moscow and Washington.
