SPECTACULAR Blaze In A Madrid Hotel sends up plumes of smoke that are visible in many parts of the city

The Nuevo Madrid hotel, located on Calle Bausá No27 in Madrid, between the area of Pío XII and Arturo Soria, next to the M-30, suffered a big fire this afternoon, Thursday 3, causing a very impressive column of smoke and fire that was visible from various points of the capital city of Spain.

Several teams of firefighters were deployed from the Madrid City Council, along with emergency ambulances from the Samur-Civil Protection, plus various police force patrols have been in attendance to watch out for the public, and to cordon off the area, while also controlling traffic nearby.

At the moment it is unknown if there are any injuries to hotel guests or staff, although there would appear to be a lot of damage to the hotel itself by this spectacular blaze, especially superficially, but, as yet, there are no reports to the cause of the start of the blaze.

The Nuevo Madrid is a brand new four-star hotel, that opened in 2005, having 225 rooms spread over nine floors, incorporating a focal point that revolves around an impressive 40-metre-high atrium that receives direct sunlight.
