ANTI-NOISE BYLAWS: In force during July and August Photo credit: Calpe town hall
CALPE’S anti-noise bylaws will be enforced as usual after July 1. Noise from building sites will be limited to a strict timetable throughout July and banned entirely during August. Last year was an exception, with the town hall deciding that it was more important to alleviate the effects of the State of Alarm on the local construction sector when all but essential work was halted. Heavy machinery, including pile-drivers, diggers or radial saws may not be used at all between July 1 and September 15. As in pre-pandemic days, noisy building construction can be carried out in July only between 9am and 2pm and from 5pm until 8pm although exceptions will be made for emergency work “in the public interest.” Minor individual DIY projects that neither produce noise nor disturb neighbours will still be allowed in August, the town hall confirmed.
