THE Ministry of Education and Vocational Training is inviting application from academic centres involved with music to share a grant of €250,000. There are a significant number of dance and music academies and schools in towns throughout the Balearics and the ministry wants to assist them to continue to help youngsters to unlock their talents despite the problems of the pandemic. Financial aid will be provided to partially finance the ordinary operating expenses and the acquisition of small instruments of these schools during the 2020-2021 academic year. These grants for the maintenance of the network of public music and dance schools are aimed at centres that provide regulated elementary music education, non-regulated music and dance education and the teachings of the Vocational Education Program (PREP). The criteria for calculating the amount of aid will be based on the number of instrumental specialties and the number of students enrolled in the music and / or dance school. Applications for this aid may be made via the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training website no later than May 7.
