ALMERIA’S Policia Nacional arrested a man who failed to return to prison after he was granted weekend leave in September 2020.

The Almeria-born prisoner possessed an extensive record and had been arrested on multiple occasions since 1982, police sources revealed.

At the time he absconded, he was serving a sentence in Jaen prison for resisting arrest and disobedience in an incident that went back to 2017.

When the prisoner did not report back to Jaen  following his temporary release authorised by the prison authorities, a warrant was issued for his immediate arrest, the same police sources said.
