AS reported previously, the H&M clothes shops in Almeria City, Roquetas and El Ejido will remain open.
They are excluded from the 30 shops that the Swedish chain intends to close throughout Spain although their 75 employees will soon be made redundant.  The company nevertheless announced the possibility of relocating or transfers.
The UGT union criticised the move, maintaining that H&M hopes to reduce overheads by substituting the Almeria employees for others “on shorter hours and more precarious jobs.”
