ANNUAL COMPETION: Encouraging young people to promote the idea of international harmony Photo credit: Lions Club International

DIANA PETROSYAN from Elian’s British School in La Nucía designed Spain’s second-placed entry in the Lions Club International Peace Poster competition.
Her poster, which showed green shoots of hope being watered by a can decorated with international flags, was championed by the Lions Club of Alfaz del Pi. It was one of 30 designs by 11 and 12-year-olds from Elian’s who entered their work in the local stage of the contest.
Diana’s poster then went forward to the district and national rounds of the competition, and her design has just been judged the runner-up in the whole of Spain.
Lions clubs around the globe have run the Peace Poster competition for more than three decades, with the aim of encouraging young people to promote the idea of international harmony.
