The council said the work to redevelop the road in Nerja are nearly finished. According to Nerja Council, the road will be able to reopen following the works to Calle Maria de Waard. Mayor of Nerja, Jose Alberto Armijo, visited the works this morning, accompanied by the Head of the Infrastructure Service, Antonio Dorado, and the first deputy mayor, Francisco Arce, and held a meeting of work with the manager Vicente Fossi, as well as the manager of the company carrying out the road works. The councillor said the works were nearly complete and have seen the replacement of storm water drains as well as signage, lighting and tree planting. The news comes after Nerja council announced is opening a new road to traffic. Mayor Armijo announced the road, which will connect Calles Manuel Marin and Granada, will be open to traffic. Nerja Council had announced they were completing works to the road on the area where the Giner de los Rios Center was located, and where the council is opening a new cultural center. The news was announced by Mayor Armijo, who visited the area accompanied by the chief of the Local Police, Francisco Iranzo, and the coordinator of Operational Services, David Roman. He said: “While work begins to the construction of the new Giner de los Rios Cultural Center, we will use this road that will facilitate traffic on Calle Manuel Marin.”
