HUERCAL-OVERA continues to work towards protecting residents and visitors against Covid-19.
“Our efforts are obtaining very good results,” said the town hall’s Tourism and Culture councillor, Belen Martinez.
Huercal-Overa’s Municipal Tourism Office, Teatro Villa and the Via Verde Green Route have each received an Advanced Good Practices for Covid-19 Control certificate via the central government’s Quality in Tourist Destinations System (SICTED).
“Huercal-Overa has a lot to offer visitors and obtaining these certificates as a Covid-safe destination means that we have taken the right route,” Martinez said.
“The present health situation has forced us to reinvent ourselves in many respects and, above all, it has shown us that we have to be very careful with the different measures, complying with capacity-regulations, social distancing and hygiene requirements,” the councillor explained.
“The Culture department has also been involved in the constant adjustments that Covid-19 has imposed on the town hall,” she continued.
These have included providing different options for the local population and visitors, with the Theatre at their centre once now that the Culture department has been able to recommence its programme.
