World’s First Super Nintendo World Opens in Osaka, Japan.

Children and adults have been delighted as on Thursday the world’s first Super Nintendo World opened in Japan’s Osaka. Fans were delighted as Universal Studios Japan invited guests to join Mario and other Nintendo characters that they had grown up with while playing video games.

Fans quickly lined up to get pictures with their favourite Nintendo characters including Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad. Many of the fans were even dressed head to toe as their favourite characters, and Mario hats could be seen all over the park.

Many visitors have been playing Nintendo video games since childhood, and one fan explained that, “it’s not an exaggeration to say that Mario raised me.”

A further fan said that Nintendo World, “is beyond my expectations. I feel like I’m in the Mario world.”

The Coronavirus has seen various restrictions placed on Universal Studios Japan as guests have their temperature checked at the entrance and have to wear masks while visiting the park. For the rollercoasters fans are asked not to scream and queues are all socially distanced and hand sanitiser can be spotted everywhere.

The Coronavirus has not put fans off visiting even though some are scared as visitor Yoshinaka explained, “I’m scared when I take off my mask to eat food,”

“But the park seems to take safety protocols, cleaning the rides and wiping surfaces every time people touch them, so I feel safe.”
