Two Women Raped in ‘Coordinated’ Sex Attacks in Bournemouth

TWO WOMEN have been raped and stabbed in separate, possibly coordinated, sex attacks less than two miles apart in the same town.

Around 8pm last night two women were found at a home in Bournemouth, one with a neck injury and one with stab wounds. It was reported that a rape had taken place during the attack and both women were rushed to hospital, however, none of their injuries are thought to be life-threatening.

Police were then called just before midnight a few miles away to a woman left on the side of the road with a knife wound, who was also thought to have been raped.

Detectives have arrested two men, one aged 29 and one aged 37, from Poole and Bournemouth respectively. Cordons have been put in place while forensic officers investigate both crime scenes for any evidence.

Stewart Dipple, Bournemouth CID’s Detective Superintendent, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of either Maxwell Road or Vale Road at the relevant times and saw what happened to please get in touch” and that “There will be an increased police presence in the vicinity over the coming days and officers can be approached by members of the community with any concerns.”

He added: “I would also ask any motorists who have a dashcam fitted to their vehicle and were travelling in the areas to check their footage for anything relevant to assist my enquiries.”

A Dorset spokesperson also confirmed that: “Both arrested men are currently assisting detectives with their enquiries.”
