SIX people were arrested for holding up two brothels and sexually abusing two prostitutes at one of them, located in Terrassa, Barcelona.

According to the Catalan police, the Mossos d’Esquadra, the investigation began following a robbery at a brothel in Terrassa, where the detainees allegedly used knives to threaten the prostitutes and steal mobile phones, jewellery and cash, as well as violently abusing two of them.

During the investigation, the officers discovered that one of the men, a Dominican citizen, had ties to one of the prostitutes who gave him information about the premises, and he was linked to another two robberies in Barcelona. They were also committed by a group of Dominican citizens who used extreme violence to intimidate the women, who they tied up and threatened with knives and guns.

Two of the suspects were arrested by the Mossos d’Esquadra in December, and the others have been arrested since then thanks to the ongoing investigation. Two of them have since been remanded in prison after appearing in court.
