Shocking Discovery of Mummified Corpse in Mallorca

SHOCKING discovery of mummified corpse that could have been sitting on the sofa for five years in Mallorca.
The shocking discovery of the corpse was made in Mallorca’s Cala Major after neighbours reported that they had not seen the house’s inhabitant for some time.
Shockingly the body of Bernat Masquida Barceló, a Spanish man, aged 55 had possibly been in his home, unnoticed for five years.
Police officers discovered the mummified body on Wednesday, and due to the state that the body was in, it is thought that he had been there for many years. Forensic experts visited the house and on examining the mummified body they determined that it could have been there for a staggering four or five years.
According to local newspaper Balerar Última Hora, neighbours alerted local police on Wednesday at around 5 PM after they noticed that they had not seen the local resident for some time. Although when officers attended the house in Miquel Roselló Alemany street, there were not expecting to find a mummified skeleton on the sofa.
The corpse was found covered in a sheet or blanket in a mummified state on the sofa according to the local newspaper.
Further tests will need to be carried out in order to determine exactly how the man died and how long he had been in the house. The tests will be carried out at the Institute of Legal Medicine in Palma.
