Body of missing woman found in marshland on the Costa Blanca.
THE Guardia Civil has recovered the body of a young woman in an area of marshland in the Valencian town of Albal.
Sources close to the case have reported that the lifeless body, found this morning (Saturday, January 30) belongs to Florina G. who was reported missing by her roommate at the beginning of the month.
A local made the grim discovery while hunting in the marsh, and contacted the police.
The body was discovered submerged in a ditch, early in the morning by a man who was hunting in the Albufera wetlands.
The body showed obvious signs of decomposition and homicide investigators are working the hypothesis that the young woman died the same day she disappeared.
Several patrols of the Local Police of Silla and the Civil Guard, in charge of investigating the event, cordoned off the area while the body was transferred to the Forensic Anatomical Institute of Valencia, where the corpse was identified.
The deceased was reportedly being forced into prostitution by a criminal organisation and frequented the surrounding areas of the Albal municipality, reports El Pais.
She was last seen getting into a car in Albal.
At the moment, no further details surrounding the discovery or possible cause of death have been provided, pending the identification of the body.
