Tragic Death of Young Woman After Being Hit by Two Cars

Murder inquiry underway after early hour fatal stabbing

POLICE appeal for information after the tragic death of young woman who was hit by two cars.

The accident happened on Tuesday night at around 7.30pm on Worsley Road in Winton in Salford. According to Greater Manchester Police (GMP) the 23-year-old pedestrian was first hit by a Skoda Citigo, that had been travelling along Worsley Road in a north westerly direction. The accident occurred close to the Walker Road junction.

After initially being hit by the Skoda the woman was then hit again, this time by a Renault Clio that had been going in the opposite direction.

The scene of the accident was attended by paramedics, emergency services and police but despite all the efforts of the paramedics the woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Police have launched an investigation into the woman’s death. Police Sergeant Brian Orr from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said, “A woman has tragically lost her life following this collision.

“We’re urging anyone who may have been in the area at the time and has information that could assist us with our investigation to come forward and speak with police.

“Were you travelling along Worsley Road at the time?

“Did you witness the collision or see the two vehicles beforehand?

“We’re particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dash-cam footage from either before, during, or after the collision.”

Police were assisted at the scene by both drivers and no arrests were made.
