THE MOSSOS D’ESQUADRA and the Salvament Marítim rescued five crew after their boat capsized.

The capsize occurred on Sunday afternoon at around 2.30 pm. The five people crewing the boat were hit by a wave that caused them to capsize and left the three adults and two children in the water in the “Banyera de la Russa”, between Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc.

The crew were able to swim for the rocks and one adult was able to climb to safety and then ask a passer-by to call for help.

All the crew were successfully rescued and taken to the port of Llafranc. The two girls were suffering from mild hypothermia but no one needed to be hospitalised.
