Germany Registers Nearly 1,000 Covid Deaths in 24 Hours Again

GERMANY Registers Nearly 1,000 Covid Deaths in 24 Hours – Again – While the Number of New Infections Reached 1,369

According to data from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the number of positives since the first contagion was announced in the country now totals 2,052,028 and the number of deaths, 47,622, with 989 recorded in the last 24 hours.

Yesterday it was reported that daily Covid infections had fallen in the country for the fourth consecutive day, however, those figures are affected by fewer tests being carried out over the weekend.

The maximum number of infections was registered in Germany on December 18 with 33,777 new infections, with a record number of deaths – 1,244 – reported last Thursday.

Around 1,716,200 people have reportedly recovered and the number of active cases stands at about 302,326, according to RKI estimates.

In Germany as a whole, the cumulative incidence in the last seven days stood at 131.5 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and new infections totaled 109,365 in the last week. The peak incidence was registered on December 22 with 197.6 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in a week.
