JUANJO BERENGUER, Campello’s mayor, condemned the decision to close the Muchavista health centre.
He described the Generalitat Health department’s plan to divert Muchavista patients to Campello’s principal centre more than five kilometres away as “ridiculous, absurd and illogical.”
This also contradicted the health authorities’ anti-Covid recommendations of reducing mobility and avoiding overcrowding, Berenguer pointed out in a written protest to the Generalitat.
Muchavista is Campello’s most-populated area and the decision to close its health centre was “incomprehensible” bearing in mind that earlier the town hall and Generalitat had discussed the need to build a new one.
