MAN rescued after falling from a paraglider and being stranded for hours

A paraglider in Sevilla had a lucky escape on Wednesday, December 30 when he fell from a height in the Sevillian town of Montellano. The injured 38-year-old was left stranded and isolated in the middle of the mountains before someone noticed his accident and phoned the emergency services shortly after 12:30pm.

Emergency workers had a difficult task because of the steep terrain in the Sierra de Montellano, but Local Police, Montellano firefighters the Guardia Civil and the Public Health Emergencies Company EPES all came to the man’s rescue.

He was carried down the mountain on a stretcher and transferred to the High Resolution Hospital of Morón de la Frontera where he was treated for severe shoulder pain.
