THE Valencia City Council has paid 58% more than in 2018 for the exact same Christmas tree
The Popular Party have called on Valencia City Council to explain why the exact same Christmas, that in 2018 cost €12,670, has this year cost €20,000 – a staggering 58% increase. The vice spokesperson, María José Ferrer San Segundo, demanded on Thursday, December 3 that “the Ribó government and the PSPV to clarify why the price has increased.”
Likewise, Ferrer San Segundo has asked why the bid price of the Christmas trees that are installed in the squares and central streets has increased by 47.6% in the last two years, going from 3,520 to 4,300 euro.
Since 2017, the tree that has been tendered and finally installed in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento have the same dimensions and technical characteristics with a height of 20 meters and a width of 10 meters.
The hiring of Christmas lighting, he pointed out, “has been done very late and hastily, which has caused us to be, on December 3 without the lights.”
