Mother Detained in Elche After Leaving Young Son Outside Alone

A MOTHER has been detained in Elche after allegedly leaving her young son locked outside, alone in the rain. 

The incident occurred on November 27, at around noon. The boy aged 2, was allegedly locked out in the rain and left with an umbrella. He was found crying, wet and soaked in urine by the police after a neighbour reported hearing crying.

The local police attended the call and gained access to the child using a ladder to reach him. The boy was too young to be able to tell officers what had happened and the boy’s brother, aged 17 was found asleep inside. He had no explanation and did not know where their mother was. After returning home the mother has been detained for suspected abandonment of a minor.
