London Bus Driver Groomed Boys with Football Memorabilia

A LONDON bus driver has been sentenced after he groomed boys with football memorabilia while working on the Go-Ahead London service.

Ronald Neill aged 57, worked as a bus driver for Go-Ahead London from February 2018 until August 2020. He was suspended immediately when the crimes came to light and was later sacked. Neill had been grooming boys the court heard, by gifting them football memorabilia and asking for their details. He later asked the boys for photos which were not considered indecent.

Dec Wilson, Detective Constable for the Modern Slavery Child Exploitation team, said, “Neill admitted to having a sexual interest in children, while working in a job that brought him into regular contact with young people.

“His buying of gifts for the boys he met on the bus was a clear sign of grooming.

“I would like to thank the families who gave us information about Neill’s behaviour to support this prosecution, and the sexual harm order he now has to abide by or face further prosecution.”

Neill was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on December 2. He received an eight month sentence that is suspended for 18 months.
