Andrea Huser Champion Ultrarunner Dies Tragically

ANDREA HUSER, champion ultrarunner dies tragically in an accident while out training.

Forty-six-year-old, Andrea has died during a training run when she slipped and fell 140m while crossing a stream according to police. Andrea an elite ultrarunner had competed in many competitions and was also a talented mountain biker.

In 2017 Andrea won the Ultra Trail World Tour and the Hong Kong 162km Ultra-Trail Tai Mo Shan. She had competed for around 20 years at an elite level.  Tributes have been paid from around the world.

Fellow runners took to Twitter to send their heartfelt tributes, Camille Herron tweeted, “Rest in peace @AndreaHuser . It was an honor to meet you at @wser . We will always run with your spirit in our hearts and remember your strength in the mountains! Sending heartfelt condolences to her family and friends”.

Andrea was reported missing on Saturday in Bern in Switzerland and a search party was put together including police and police dogs.  Her body was tragically found on Sunday.
