Burgos Old Man Sentenced to Two years in Prison after Assaulting Minor

THE old man was sentenced by the Burgos Provincial Court to two years in prison after assaulting a minor in a park.

The man aged 96 was accused of sexually assaulting a minor of 14 years old, in a park in Burgos on the afternoon of March 1, 2019. He was tried by the Burgos Provincial Court.

The incident occurred on the Paseo del Espolón, Burgos when the man sat next to a minor and started conversation. The conversation became inappropriate and the child repeatedly told the man that she was only 14 years old. After repeatedly being touched by the man, the girl managed to leave and the man said “wait, don’t go, we’re going to have a great time”.

On reaching the safety of her friends she was encouraged to call her mother, who in turn contacted the police. The man has now been sentenced to two years in prison.
