Care Home in Palencia Free of COVID-19 after 50 Days

THE Salinas care home in Palencia was struck with a COVID-19 outbreak in October, but now has reason to celebrate as it is declared free of COVID-19 after 50 days.

The outbreak started in October after a worker tested positive and residents were confined to their rooms. By the next day, a COVID-19 outbreak was declared, and soon there were 90 people infected.

A great amount of work has been carried out to ensure the safety and health of residents and workers at the home and the Cervera health centre has now given the all clear. The lives of the residents and staff can now return to normal after 50 long days, but the 15 residents that died during the outbreak will not be forgotten.
