CLAUDIA Winkleman has been left ‘speechless’ after she gets Graham Norton’s BBC Radio 2 slot following his announcement that his ten-year career with the station will come to an end on December 19.
The 48-year-old, who is set to take over Norton’s 10 am-1 pm slot, is already a familiar voice to listeners hosting the ‘Claudia Winkleman Arts Show’ and more recently, ‘Claudia on Sunday’ in the 7-9 pm slot.
The Strictly Come Dancing host, who will front the new programme from February, confirmed the news on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Monday, November 23, saying: “I’m not often speechless but the chance to be with the wonderful Radio 2 listeners every Saturday has left me, quite frankly, gobsmacked.
“I hope my voice comes back in time for the first show as I can no longer simply rely on a fake tan and a fringe. There’s nobody I’d rather be with at the weekend, it’s a privilege and an honour.”
