FIREFIGHTERS managed to rescue residents from a house fire that completely destroyed the property in Santa Pola.

The incident happened on Wednesday, November 18, when a fire broke out in a house on Mediodía Street in the town of Santa Pola, in the Baix Vinalopó region of Alicante, at around 1.40 pm.
Firefighters from the Alicante Provincial Park rushed to the scene to evacuate the residents and try to rescue the building, however, according to sources from the fire consortium, part of a house has been burned and smoke damage had destroyed the entire home.
The fire was extinguished around 3 pm, with work from around three trucks and over 6 firefighters.
One person is being treated for smoke inhalation in hospital, however, the health status of the individual is currently unknown.
