WHEN you drive a high bodied vehicle, it is always a good idea to be alert in case you encounter a low bridge and this is what happened this morning (November 17) when the driver of a commercial van misjudged the clearance.

As can be seen from the photograph, on this occasion as the driver was trying to drive through the El Bombo underpass at Km199 of the A7 at La Cala de Mijas, he simply didn’t make it even though there were clear signs concerning the height of the bridge.

Luckily, he stopped in time so that the entire body of the van wasn’t knocked off but damage was still done to the vehicle although happily no injuries were reported.
