£10,000 fine for Brighton house party organiser

A WHOPPING £10,000 fine has been issued to a house party organiser in Brighton for breaching Covid rules.

The fine was issued by police after they broke up a party of more than 100 people at a property in Norwich Drive at around midnight on Saturday, October 31.

The university town is known for its parties and vibrant nightlife but under COVID regulations, this particular party was in breach of strict laws.

According to Sussex Police, they were met with “violence and abuse” when they asked partiers to leave the property.

In what was a busy Halloween night for the police force, they also had to break up a large party on the University of Sussex campus in Falmer, seizing a generator and a sound system as they look to track down the organiser to also issue them with a £10,000 fine.
