Covid-19 outbreak at student halls of residence with dozens infected

A STUDENT halls of residence in Valencia has been confined after a Covid-19 outbreak with 72 positive cases detected.
Health Minister Ana Barceló confirmed the outbreak today, Saturday, October 31 – the second at residence halls in the city in recent weeks – after conducting “massive testing” of students.
The origin of the recent flare-up has not been clarified but Public Health has already opened an investigation and residents must remain in isolation for a period of 10 days.
This is the second outbreak detected in a student residence in recent weeks.
A party at the Galileo Galilei residence hall left dozens of infected people who went on to infect other students, forcing the closure of the Polytechnic University of Valencia to try to control transmission.
