Constable Alex Dunn ended up facing assault charges as a result of the altercation and, although having returned to work, will only continue in an administrative role for the department.

Suspect, Dalia Kafi, was waiting to have her mugshot taken at the police station when Dunn attempts to remove her scarf from around her neck which cause Kafi to instinctively move away from the officer.

In what appears to be a sudden aggressive fit of frustration, Dunn slams the woman to the floor where the impact broke her nose and required subsequent surgery.

Blood can be seen on the floor in the video where Kafi hits the floor.

Dunn was charged for the offence in 2019 after causing bodily harm however has since returned to duty in a purely administrative role.
